Upgrading a monthly Starter or Creator plan to annual requires contacting support.\n\n## Costs the pricing page does not show\n\n1. **Enterprise has no published price, seat minimum, or contract length.** The page offers a demo.\n2. **There is no top-up.** The FAQ says usage is capped until renewal when you run out of minutes, and the only remedy offered is to upgrade the plan. Unused minutes do not roll over.\n3. **The studio avatar is an add-on at $1,000 a year**, for annual plan users only.\n4. **Lip sync in dubbing uses double credits.** A dubbed minute with lip sync costs twice the dubbed minute without.\n5. **The page's FAQ still quotes old prices.** It says Starter is $29 a month or $264 a year and Creator $804 a year, while the plan cards and the banner show $19, $14, $89, and $59. This page cites the cards. If you see $29 quoted elsewhere, that is why.\n6. **Re-recording, in Synthesia's form.** A Synthesia video is rendered from a script and an avatar. When the software it explains changes, the screen recording or the screenshots inside the video are wrong, and the fix is to record the screens again and re-render. Where Synthesia costs more is less visible: the moment a second person needs to edit, Synthesia is an Enterprise conversation and Layerpath is $100.\n\n## The comparison that is not seat price\n\nBoth pricing pages price a person. Neither prices what the video is about.\n\nSynthesia's price buys a presenter. You write a script, pick an avatar and a language, and a rendered person delivers the words. It is built for training and communication video where the content is the message and the screen, if any, is illustration. When the message changes, you edit the script and re-render, which is the strength of the model.\n\nLayerpath's price buys the software itself, captured once. The project becomes an interactive tour, a step-by-step guide, and a narrated video of the real interface. When the product changes, you edit the step that changed and republish all three. There is no avatar; the product is the presenter.\n\nSo the question is not which is cheaper per seat. It is what the audience needs to see:\n\n1.
