Enterprise is a custom platform fee. Annual billing lowers Pro to $22 and $15. Those figures are from tango.ai/pricing, checked September 11, 2026; the old tango.us address redirects there. If you are pricing dance lessons, this is the wrong page.\n\n### Free is $0 for up to 10 users\n\nBrowser capture, five shared workflows in the team library, share by link and embed, sign in with Google. No export, no desktop capture, no blurring.\n\n### Pro is $26 per user per month, $20 at three or more\n\nUnlimited workflows, desktop capture, export to PDF, Markdown, and HTML, screenshot annotation and blurring, branded guides, 14-day version history, viewer insights, voice transcription, roles, comments, and priority support. $22 or $15 on annual billing.\n\n### Enterprise is a platform fee\n\nPriced on the number of users supported. Adds automatic PII redaction, conditional workflows, translation into 15 languages, in-app guidance (Pins, Guide Me, Automations), 365-day version history and audit logs, SSO, SCIM, user groups, advanced permissions, and security reviews.\n\n### The cap that moves you off Free is workflows, not people\n\nTen people can sit on Free at $0. The paid jump comes when the team library needs more than five workflows or anyone needs an export.\n\n## What each Tango plan includes\n\nTango prices every member of a Pro workspace. A workspace cannot mix Free and Pro members.\n\n| Plan | Price | What you get |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Free | $0 | Up to 10 users, 5 shared workflows in the team library, browser capture, link and embed sharing, sign in with Google, Tango cloud hosting. No export, no desktop capture, no blurring. |\n| Pro | $26 per user / month at 1–2 users ($22 yearly); $20 per user / month at 3+ ($15 yearly) | Unlimited workflows, browser and desktop capture, export to PDF, Markdown, and HTML, screenshot annotation and blurring, branded workflows and exports, voice and video embeds, 14-day version history, viewer insights, voice transcription, AI-generated content, custom highlight colour, callouts and headings, invite others to edit, comments and reactions, workspace roles, shared private folders, custom branding, priority support. |\n| Enterprise | Custom platform fee | Everything in Pro plus automatic PII detection and redaction, multi-path workflows, translation into 15 languages, Pins, Guide Me, and Automations for licensed internal users, 365-day version history and audit logs, SSO (Google, Okta, Azure), SCIM, onboarding and training, usage analytics, user groups, advanced permissions, remote extension install, DPAs and vendor security reviews. |\n\nTwo lines matter more than the rest. Export starts at Pro, so a guide that has to become a PDF or land in a wiki as HTML starts at $26. And in-app guidance, the feature Tango is best known for, is Enterprise only.\n\n## What a Tango team actually pays\n\nPer-user pricing with a rate step at three users. The FAQ confirms the step: a workspace upgraded with three or more members is billed at the team rate.\n\n| Users | Pro, monthly billing | Pro, yearly billing (per month) | Yearly total |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| 1 | $26 | $22 | $264 |\n| 2 | $52 | $44 | $528 |\n| 5 | $100 | $75 | $900 |\n| 10 | $200 | $150 | $1,800 |\n| 25 | $500 | $375 | $4,500 |\n\nTwo things shape the total. Everyone in a Pro workspace is a paid seat, including people who only need to read, because a Pro workspace cannot hold Free members. And a 10-person team can stay at $0 as long as five shared workflows and browser-only capture are enough.\n\n## Costs the pricing page does not show\n\n1. **Enterprise has no published platform fee, minimum user count, or contract length.** The page offers a demo.\n2. **Upgrading is all or nothing.** The FAQ says that when you upgrade to Pro you must upgrade every member of the workspace. A team of eight where two people build guides pays for eight.\n3. **Free has no export.** A guide made on Free lives as a Tango link or embed. Moving it into a PDF, a help centre, or a docs repository starts at Pro.\n4. **The trial is unconfirmed.** The page's own metadata mentions a free trial; the page body offers only the Free plan. Plan on Free being the trial.\n5. **No HIPAA.** The FAQ states that Tango does not currently maintain formal HIPAA compliance. SOC 2 Type 2 is in place.\n6. **Recapturing.** A Tango guide is a set of screenshots taken on the day. When the software changes, the screenshots are wrong and the fix is to capture the workflow again. Nothing on the pricing page charges for this. A team pays it in hours.\n\n## Where Layerpath fits, and where it costs more\n\n**Layerpath costs more than Tango at every team size. There is no crossover.** We publish that first because a reader can check it in one click, and the rest of the page is only useful if this part is honest.\n\nLayerpath prices the creator, the person who makes and edits projects. Viewers and members who only read are free, which is the opposite of Tango's every-member model.\n\n| Users / creators | Tango Pro | Layerpath |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| 1 | $26 | $50, Pro |\n| 3 | $60 | $150, Pro |\n| 5 | $100 | $500, Team |\n| 10 | $200 | $750, Team |\n| 25 | $500 | Enterprise, from $10,000 a year |\n\nLayerpath Pro is $50 per creator per month or $500 per year, with one creator included and up to two more; Team is $500 per month or $5,000 per year for five creators, supporting four to fourteen; Enterprise starts at $10,000 per year. Source: layerpath.com/pricing, checked September 11, 2026.\n\nThe two pricing models pull in different directions. Tango charges for everyone in the workspace, so a 10-person team where one person builds guides pays $200. Layerpath charges for the builders, so the same team pays $50 on Pro. That is the one configuration where the totals come close, and it depends on how many people in your team actually make guides.\n\n## The comparison that is not seat price\n\nBoth pricing pages price a person. Neither prices the work that person has to redo.\n\nTango's price buys a step-by-step guide of screenshots and text, captured as you click, and on Enterprise the ability to pin those steps inside the application for the people following them. It is built for internal process documentation: onboarding staff to tools, standard operating procedures, the how-to that lives next to the work. When the interface changes, the screenshots are wrong until someone captures the workflow again.\n\nLayerpath's price buys a source you keep. You capture a workflow once, and that one project becomes an interactive tour, a step-by-step guide, and a narrated video. When the product changes, you edit the step that changed and republish all three.\n\nSo the honest unit of comparison is the guide you have to keep accurate, not the seat. Three questions decide it:\n\n1. Is the audience your own staff following an internal process, or customers learning your product?\n2. How many guides did you recapture in the last six months because the interface moved?\n3. Does the guide need to exist as a video and a clickable tour as well?\n\nIf the answers are \"staff\", \"few\", and \"no\", Tango is the right purchase and the cheaper one. If the audience is customers, recaptures are routine, and the same content has to ship in three formats, the seat price stops being the deciding number.\n\n## When Tango is the right answer\n\nOften, and plainly.\n\nChoose Tango when the job is internal: onboarding a new hire to the tools your company runs on, documenting a standard operating procedure, keeping the how-to in front of the person doing the task. Its Free plan for 10 users is the most generous in the category, its Pro rate at three or more is among the lowest, and on Enterprise its in-app Pins and Guide Me put the steps where the work happens, which no external-facing tool does.\n\nLayerpath does not offer in-app guidance for your internal software and does not have a 10-user free workspace. If that is the job, Tango does it better and costs less.\n\n## What the rest of the category costs\n\nTango is weighed against other guide tools and against the tools that make video from a capture. Cheapest paid plan on each vendor's own pricing page, monthly billing unless marked:\n\n| Tool | Cheapest paid plan | Monthly price | Unit |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Scribe | Pro Team | $17 | per seat, 5-seat minimum ($85 floor) |\n| Loom | Business | $18 | per user |\n| Tango | Pro | $20 at 3+ users, $26 at 1–2 | per user, whole workspace |\n| Guidde | Pro | $29 | per creator (Business $59) |\n| Scribe | Pro Personal | $35 | per seat, from 1 |\n| Clueso | Solo | $40, billed yearly | flat; monthly rate not shown |\n| Trupeer | Pro | $49 | flat, 1 seat |\n| Arcade | Growth | $50 | per seat |\n| Supademo | Scale | $50 | per creator |\n| Layerpath | Pro | $50 | per creator, viewers free |\n| iorad | Individual | $200 | 1 creator, learners free |\n| Whale | Scale | $249, billed yearly | 3 creators included |\n\nRead the shape rather than the rows. The tools in the teens and twenties capture a process into a document. The tools around $50 build something and maintain it. The tools above that bundle training systems around the document. Decide which job you are buying before you compare a $20 tool with a $50 one.\n\n## Frequently asked questions\n\n### How much does Tango cost per month?\n\n$26 per user per month on Pro for one or two users, and $20 per user per month at three or more, billed monthly, as of September 11, 2026. Annual billing is $22 and $15. Free is $0 for up to 10 users and Enterprise is a custom platform fee.\n\n### Is Tango free?\n\nYes, for up to 10 users. The Free plan includes browser capture, five shared workflows in the team library, and sharing by link or embed. It does not include export, desktop capture, or blurring.\n\n### How much is Tango for a team of 10?\n\n$200 a month on Pro with monthly billing, or $150 a month billed yearly, which is $1,800 a year. The same 10 people can use Free at $0 if five shared workflows and browser capture are enough.\n\n### Can some people in my workspace be on Free and others on Pro?\n\nNo. Tango's FAQ says upgrading to Pro means upgrading every member of the workspace. Everyone in a Pro workspace is a paid seat.\n\n### Does Tango have a free trial?\n\nThe pricing page does not offer one; the Free plan is the trial. The page's metadata mentions a trial, but nothing on the page itself does, so plan on Free.\n\n### Is Tango's in-app guidance on the Pro plan?\n\nNo. Pins, Guide Me, and Automations, the features that show steps inside the application, are Enterprise only.\n\n### Is Layerpath cheaper than Tango?\n\nNo. Layerpath Pro is $50 per creator per month and Tango Pro is $26 or $20 per user, so Layerpath costs more at every size. The models differ: Tango charges every workspace member, Layerpath charges only the people who build. A 10-person team with one builder pays $200 at Tango and $50 at Layerpath, which is the one case where the totals come close.\n\n## Methodology and sources\n\nPrices change, so every figure on this page carries a date. Where a number here disagrees with a vendor's own pricing page, the vendor's page is correct.\n\n- Tango plans, the three-user rate step, the whole-workspace upgrade rule, and compliance statements: tango.ai/pricing and its FAQ, checked September 11, 2026. tango.us/pricing redirects to tango.ai/pricing.\n- Layerpath plans: layerpath.com/pricing, checked September 11, 2026.\n- All other vendors in the category table: each vendor's own pricing page, checked September 11, 2026. Clueso and Whale display only yearly-billed rates.\n- Team totals are arithmetic on the per-user rates shown; no discount is assumed beyond what each vendor advertises."}
