# How To Add A Border In Google Slides

Add borders in Google Slides to text boxes, shapes, and images for a polished look. Customize border color, thickness, and style.

1. Open your Google Slides presentation and select the **text box, image, or shape** you want to add a border to.
2. Click on the **"Border color"** icon in the toolbar (a pencil symbol).
3. Choose a **color** from the palette to apply the border.
4. Click on the **"Border weight"** icon (three stacked lines) to adjust the thickness of the border.
5. Click on the **"Border dash"** icon to change the style (solid, dashed, or dotted).
6. If adding a border to a slide, insert a **rectangle shape**, resize it to fit the slide, and set its border color and weight.
