# How to Blur in Figma

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to apply a blur effect to elements within Figma. Follow these steps carefully to achieve the desired blur effect on your design elements.

1. **Select the Object** – Click on the shape, image, or layer you want to blur.
2. **Go to the Right Panel** – In the right-hand properties panel, scroll to the **“Effects”** section.
3. **Click the ‘+’ Icon Next to Effects** – This will add a default effect (usually drop shadow).
4. **Change the Effect Type** – Click the dropdown where it says **“Drop Shadow”** and choose **“Background Blur”** or **“Layer Blur”**:
   
      - 🔹 **Background Blur** blurs anything *behind* the object.
      - 🔹 **Layer Blur** blurs the object *itself*.
5. **Adjust Blur Intensity** – Use the **slider** or type a value to control how strong the blur is.
6. **Done** – Your element now has a blur effect!
