# How to Change Host in Zoom

This guide will walk you through the steps needed to change the host of a Zoom meeting. Follow these instructions to transfer host control to another participant.

1. **Start or Join the Meeting** – Open the Zoom app and either start a new meeting or join an existing one.
2. **Open Participants Panel** – Click on the **“Participants”** button at the bottom of the Zoom window to open the participants list.
3. **Hover Over the Participant's Name** – Find the participant you want to make the host and hover over their name in the participants list.
4. **Click More** – Once you hover over their name, click on the **“More”** button (three dots) next to their name.
5. **Select “Make Host”** – From the dropdown menu, select **“Make Host”** to transfer the host controls to that participant.
6. **Confirm Host Change** – A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you want to transfer the host role. Click **“Yes”** to confirm.
7. **Host Role Transfer Complete** – The participant will now have host privileges, including the ability to manage participants, share their screen, and more.
8. **Done** – The participant is now the host, and you may continue the meeting as a regular participant, or you can leave the meeting if necessary.
