# How to Change Your Zoom Name Before a Meeting

This guide will walk you through the steps to change your display name on Zoom before joining a meeting. Follow each step to ensure your name is updated correctly.

1. **Open the Zoom App or Website** – Launch the **Zoom desktop/mobile app** or go to [zoom.us](https://zoom.us/) and **sign in** to your account.
2. **Go to “Profile” Section** – On the website, click **“My Account”** (top-right), then select **“Profile”** from the left menu.
3. **Click “Edit” Next to Your Name** – In the Profile tab, you’ll see your name. Click the small **“Edit”** button beside it.
4. **Enter New Name** – Type in your **desired display name** in the “First Name” and/or “Last Name” fields.
5. **Save Changes** – Scroll down and click the blue **“Save”** button to confirm your new Zoom name.
6. **For Mobile App** – Tap on **Settings → Profile → Display Name**, then update it and hit **Save**.
7. **Name Will Appear in Meetings** – Your updated name will now automatically appear in any future Zoom meetings.
8. **Optional: Double-check in App** – Join a test meeting or go to Zoom’s “Settings” > “Profile” in the app to confirm the name has been updated.
