# How to Change Zoom Background

This guide provides a step-by-step process to change your background in Zoom. Follow these steps to customize your virtual meeting space with an image of your choice, such as 'San Francisco.jpg'.

1. **Open Zoom App** – Launch the Zoom Desktop or Mobile App and sign in to your account.
2. **Go to Settings (Before Meeting)** – Click the **gear icon (⚙️)** on the top-right (Desktop) → Go to **“Background & Effects”** or **“Virtual Background”**.
3. **Or During a Meeting** – Click the **“^” arrow next to Stop Video** → Select **“Choose Virtual Background”**.
4. **Choose a Default Background** – Zoom offers pre-loaded options like beach, grass, or blur. Just click to apply.
5. **Upload Custom Background** – Click the **“+” icon** to upload your own image or video background (JPG, PNG, MP4 formats).
6. **Use “Blur” Option (Optional)** – Select **“Blur”** to keep the focus on you and hide the background without using an image.
7. **Enable Green Screen (If Needed)** – If you're using a physical green screen, check the box **“I have a green screen”** for better effect.
8. **Done** – Your virtual background is now active. It will apply in all future meetings unless changed.
