# How to Do Matching on Google Forms

Learn how to do matching questions in Google Forms, setting up interactive quiz formats for learning assessments.

1. **Open Google Forms** – Go to [Google Forms](https://forms.google.com/) and create a new form or open an existing one.
2. **Add a Question** – Click the **“+”** button to add a new question.
3. **Select “Multiple-choice Grid” or “Dropdown”** –
   
      - Choose **“Multiple-choice Grid”** for matching column options.
      - Alternatively, use the **“Dropdown”** question type for a single-selection matching format.
4. **Enter Matching Pairs** –
   
      - In **Row options**, list the items that need to be matched.
      - In **Column options**, provide possible answers for selection.
5. **Enable Required Responses (Optional)** – Click the **three-dot menu** ⋮ and select **“Require a response per row”** to ensure all matches are completed.
6. **Customize Answer Key (For Quizzes)** –
   
      - Click **“Answer key”** and select the correct matches if using **Quiz mode**.
      - Assign points for correct answers.
7. **Test Your Form** – Preview the form to check if the matching section works as expected.
8. **Share Your Form** – Click **“Send”** to share via email, link, or embed it on a website.
