# How to Duplicate in Figma

Follow these steps to easily duplicate objects within your Figma design files.

1. **Select the Object** – Click on the frame, shape, text, or component you want to duplicate.
2. **Use Keyboard Shortcut** – Press **Ctrl + D** (Windows) or **Cmd + D** (Mac) to instantly duplicate.
3. **Drag While Holding Alt/Option** – Hold **Alt** (Windows) or **Option** (Mac), then drag the object to duplicate it manually.
4. **Use Right-Click Menu** – Right-click on the object and choose **Duplicate** from the dropdown.
5. **Layer Appears Above** – The duplicated item appears directly above the original in the layers panel.
6. **Move or Edit** – Position and modify the duplicate as needed.
7. **Repeat if Needed** – Use **Ctrl/Cmd + D** again to repeat the last duplication pattern.
