# How to Edit in Figma

This guide provides a step-by-step process on how to make specific edits in Figma. Follow these steps carefully to successfully complete the editing task.

1. **Open Your Figma File** – Launch Figma and open the design file you want to edit.
2. **Select the Element** – Click on the text, shape, image, or component you want to edit.
3. **Edit Text** – Double-click on any text layer to start typing and make changes.
4. **Edit Shapes or Images** – Select the shape or image, then use the right-hand panel to adjust color, size, stroke, effects, etc.
5. **Move or Resize Elements** – Click and drag to move, or drag corners to resize. Hold `Shift` to maintain proportions.
6. **Use the Properties Panel** – Use the right-hand panel for fine-tuning like alignment, rotation, opacity, and constraints.
7. **Edit Components** – Double-click to go inside a component and make changes. Edits will reflect wherever it’s used (unless it's detached).
