# How to Enable and Use Annotate in Zoom

Follow these steps to enable the annotation feature in Zoom. This guide will help you navigate through the Zoom web portal settings to ensure that the annotation feature is available for your meetings.

1. **Log In to Zoom Web Portal** – Open [zoom.us](https://zoom.us/) in your browser and sign in with your Zoom account.
2. **Go to Settings** – From the left sidebar, click **“Settings”** under the **Personal** section.
3. **Enable Annotation** – Scroll to the **“In Meeting (Basic)”** section and turn ON the **“Annotation”** toggle.
4. **Start or Join a Meeting** – Launch a Zoom meeting from your desktop or mobile app.
5. **Click “Share Screen”** – From the Zoom toolbar, click the green **“Share Screen”** button and select what you want to share (like a whiteboard or browser window).
6. **Click “Annotate”** – Once screen sharing begins, a toolbar will appear at the top. Click **“Annotate”** to open drawing and markup tools.
7. **Use Tools to Draw/Highlight** – Choose tools like **Draw**, **Text**, **Spotlight**, **Stamp**, or **Eraser** to interact with your screen.
8. **Stop Annotating Anytime** – Click **“Close”** on the annotation toolbar or **“Stop Share”** to end screen sharing and annotation.
