# How to Highlight Text in Figma

This guide will walk you through the steps needed to highlight text in Figma using the Rectangle and Fill tools. Follow these steps carefully to achieve a highlighted text effect.

1. **Select the Text Layer** – Click on the text you want to highlight.
2. **Create a Rectangle** – Use the shape tool (press **R**) to draw a rectangle behind the text.
3. **Match Rectangle to Text** – Resize the rectangle to align with the text’s dimensions.
4. **Set Highlight Color** – Choose your desired highlight color from the Fill options.
