# How to Lock Slides in Google Slides

Lock slides in Google Slides to prevent accidental edits. Learn how to use master slides or convert slides to images for a fixed layout.

1. Open your Google Slides presentation.
2. Select the slide you want to lock.
3. Click **File > Download > PNG or JPEG** to save the slide as an image.
4. Insert the downloaded image onto a new blank slide.
5. Resize the image to fit the slide completely.
6. Lock editing by avoiding text boxes or elements over the image.
7. To edit, remove the image and make changes to the original slide.
