# How to Make a Gradient in Figma

This guide will help you create a beautiful gradient in Figma. Follow the steps below to learn how to add and customize gradients to your design elements.

1. **Select the Shape or Layer** – Click on the object (rectangle, circle, text box, etc.) where you want to apply the gradient.
2. **Open the Fill Settings** – In the right-hand panel under the **Design** tab, find the **Fill** section and click the color box.
3. **Change Fill Type to Gradient** – In the color picker popup:
   
      - Click the dropdown (usually says **Solid**) and choose a gradient type:
         
               - **Linear**
               - **Radial**
               - **Angular**
               - **Diamond**
4. **Edit Gradient Stops** – Click on the color stops in the gradient bar. You can:
   
      - **Change Colors** by clicking each stop and selecting a new color.
      - **Add Stops** by clicking anywhere on the gradient bar.
      - **Delete Stops** by dragging them off the bar.
5. **Adjust the Angle/Direction** – Click and drag the gradient handle on the canvas to reposition or rotate the gradient.
6. **Done** – Your gradient is applied and customizable anytime.
