# How to Merge Layers in Figma

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to merge layers within your design project in Figma. Follow these simple steps to combine multiple layers into a single layer efficiently.

1. **Open Your Figma File**
   – Launch Figma and open the design file containing the layers you want to merge.
2. **Select the Layers**
   – Hold `Shift` and click the layers on the canvas or in the Layers panel.
3. **Group the Layers**
   – Press `Ctrl + G` (Windows) or `Cmd + G` (Mac) to combine the selected layers into one group.
4. **Use Boolean Operations (For Shapes)**
   – With shapes selected, choose from the top toolbar: – Union
