# How to Set Background in Zoom

Follow these steps to successfully set a custom background for your Zoom meetings. This guide will walk you through each action required to change your background image to 'Grass.jpg'.

1. **Open Zoom App** – Launch the **Zoom Desktop App** or go to [zoom.us](https://zoom.us/) and sign in.
2. **Go to Settings** – Click the **gear icon** (⚙️) on the top-right corner of the Zoom home screen.
3. **Click “Background & Effects”** – In the left sidebar, choose **“Background & Effects”** or **“Virtual Background”** depending on your Zoom version.
4. **Choose a Default Background** – Select one of the built-in Zoom backgrounds (like office, beach, etc.).
5. **Upload Custom Background** –
   
      - Click the **“+”** icon
      - Choose **“Add Image”** or **“Add Video”**
      - Select a file from your computer
6. **Enable Video Preview (Optional)** – Check your background in the preview window to adjust positioning or lighting.
7. **Green Screen Option (If Available)** – If you have a green screen, tick the **“I have a green screen”** box for cleaner results.
8. **Done** – Your background is now active and will appear in all meetings unless changed.
