# How to Transfer Host in Zoom

Follow these step-by-step instructions to transfer the host role to another participant in your Zoom meeting.

1. **Start or Join a Meeting** – Launch Zoom and either start or join the meeting where you’re the current host.
2. **Open Participants Panel** – At the bottom of the Zoom window, click on **“Participants”** to open the list of people in the meeting.
3. **Find the New Host** – Scroll through the list and hover over the name of the person you want to make host.
4. **Click “More”** – Next to their name, click the **“More”** button (three dots).
5. **Select “Make Host”** – From the dropdown menu, click on **“Make Host.”**
6. **Confirm the Transfer** – A confirmation box will pop up. Click **“Yes”** to transfer host privileges.
7. **New Host Now in Control** – That participant now becomes the host, with full meeting controls.
8. **Optional – Reclaim Host (If Needed)** – If you're a co-host and need to take back control, the new host can make you host again using the same steps.
