Deleting a table in Google Docs is quick and easy. Whether you need to clean up your document or start fresh, this guide explains the steps for removing tables and adjusting your layout.

  1. Open Google Docs – Go to docs.google.com and open the document containing the table you want to delete.

  2. Click on the Table – Click anywhere inside the table to select it. You’ll see a blue border around the table.

  3. Select the Entire Table

    • Hover your cursor over the top-left corner of the table until a small 4-way arrow appears.

    • Click the 4-way arrow to select the entire table.

  4. Right-Click on the Table – Once the table is selected, right-click anywhere within the selected area.

  5. Choose “Delete Table” – In the context menu that appears, click “Delete table”. This will remove the entire table from the document.

  6. Alternative Method (Backspace)

    • If you only want to remove the table’s content but keep the empty space, select the table and press Backspace or Delete.

  7. Check for Extra Spaces – After deletion, you might have some extra blank space left. Simply press Backspace or Delete again to remove that.

  8. Done – The table is now deleted from your Google Docs document, and you’re free to continue editing your content.
