How To Highlight Duplicates In Google Sheets

Identify duplicate values in Google Sheets using conditional formatting. Learn how to apply formulas and highlight repeated entries automatically.

  1. Open Google Sheets and select the range where you want to find duplicates.

  2. Click on Format > Conditional formatting from the menu.

  3. In the Format cells if dropdown, choose Custom formula is.

  4. Enter the formula: =COUNTIF(A:A, A1) > 1 (replace A:A with your column range).

  5. Choose a highlight color under the Formatting style.

  6. Click Done, and duplicates will be highlighted automatically.
