Contact support

Email support@layerpath.com. You don't need a Layerpath account to reach us.

A person on our team reads every message and replies within 2 business days.

How-to guides are at docs.layerpath.com.

To help us answer faster, include:

  • The email you sign in to Layerpath with

  • Where you were working: the Layerpath app, the browser extension, ChatGPT, Claude, or Slack

  • The tour's name or share link, and the step number if it's about one step

  • What you asked for, what you expected, and what happened instead

  • When it happened, with your time zone

  • A screenshot of any message you saw

  • For Slack, your Slack workspace's name and a link to the thread (open the message's menu and choose Copy link)

We'll never ask for your password or a sign-in code, so don't send them. If a screenshot shows a password, an API key, or customer data, blur it first.

Privacy questions and data requests go to the same address. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data, and our terms of service cover use of Layerpath.

Before you start

Each integration connects to a Layerpath workspace, and tours you create there are saved to that workspace. You need a Layerpath account to connect. If you don't have one, you can create one while you connect, with Google or with your email and password.

  • You need to be an Owner, Admin, or Editor in a Layerpath workspace. Viewers can't create tours.

  • If you're in more than one workspace, pick the one your tours should go to. To switch later, disconnect and connect again.

  • Layerpath in Slack, ChatGPT, and Claude uses your workspace's plan. The same limits apply as in the Layerpath app.

Agent can build a tour from screenshots, a screen recording, or a Loom link. YouTube links work in ChatGPT and Slack, not yet in Claude.

Agent uses AI to write steps and callouts, and it can make mistakes. Review each tour before you share it.

Layerpath Agent in ChatGPT

Connect

  1. In ChatGPT, open Apps, find Layerpath, and choose Connect.

  2. Sign in to Layerpath and pick the workspace for your tours.

  3. Choose Allow. You'll come back to ChatGPT.

  4. In any chat, attach screenshots or a screen recording, or paste a Loom or YouTube link, and ask for a tour.

Layerpath shows its progress in the chat, then the finished tour, which you can play right there. Ask in the chat to change it, translate it, add a voiceover, blur names, or get its share link, a video, or a PDF guide.

Edit opens the tour in the Layerpath editor, where you can change any step by hand. On ChatGPT plans with the side panel, the editor opens beside the chat. Share has the tour's link, the embed code, video and PDF exports, and the step-by-step guide.

Disconnect

In ChatGPT, open Settings > Apps, choose Layerpath, then Disconnect. ChatGPT stops sending requests to Layerpath. Tours you already created stay in your Layerpath workspace until you delete them or ask us to.

Layerpath Agent in Claude

Connect

  1. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors and connect Layerpath. If Layerpath isn't listed yet, choose Add custom connector and enter https://agent.layerpath.com/mcp.

  2. Choose Connect, sign in to Layerpath, and pick the workspace for your tours.

  3. Choose Allow.

  4. In a chat, open + > Connectors and turn on Layerpath.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner first adds Layerpath for the whole organization: Organization settings > Connectors > Add > Custom > Web, with the same server address. Members then connect it and sign in with their own Layerpath account.

To create a tour, ask Claude for one and give it a Loom link, or add screenshots or a screen recording in the upload box Layerpath shows in the chat (Create with Agent, then Drop files here). The tour starts on its own. If an arrow shows under the files, press it. Files attached to the Claude chat itself aren't sent to Layerpath.

Layerpath shows its progress, then the finished tour, which you can play in the chat. Edit opens the editor full screen. Share has the tour's link, the embed code, video and PDF exports, and the step-by-step guide.

Disconnect

In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors and remove Layerpath. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner can remove it for the whole organization from Organization settings > Connectors. Tours you already created stay in your Layerpath workspace until you delete them or ask us to.

Layerpath Agent in Slack

Install

  1. An Owner or Admin of a Layerpath workspace opens app.layerpath.com/slack/install and signs in. You can also choose Add to Slack in Layerpath under Settings > Integrations.

  2. Pick the Layerpath workspace where tours created in Slack will be saved.

  3. Select Allow in Slack. Your Slack workspace may need an admin to approve the app first.

  4. To use Layerpath in a channel, invite it with /invite @Layerpath.

Mention @Layerpath in a channel or thread with screenshots, a screen recording, or a Loom or YouTube link, or send it a direct message. Layerpath shows its progress in the thread, then posts the tour there. Select the tour to open its panel: Open tour opens it, and Make video turns it into a video. Reply in the same thread to change the tour, for example to shorten steps, translate it, add a voiceover, or blur names. The tour's link stays the same.

Members of your Slack workspace can use Layerpath. Guests, and people from other companies in shared channels, can't. Tours made in Slack show as made by Layerpath Agent, and each Slack workspace connects to one Layerpath workspace.

Uninstall

In Layerpath, an Owner or Admin opens Settings > Integrations and chooses Disconnect on Slack. Or, in Slack:

  1. Select your workspace name in the sidebar.

  2. Open Tools & settings > Manage apps.

  3. Open Installed apps, find Layerpath, and choose App details.

  4. Open Configuration and choose Remove app.

Layerpath then stops answering in your Slack. Tours already created stay in your Layerpath workspace until you delete them or ask us to.

Disconnect people from Layerpath

Owners and Admins can open Settings > Integrations in Layerpath. The ChatGPT and Claude lists show who's connected, each with Disconnect. That person has to connect again to use Layerpath there.

Disconnecting stops new requests. Tours already created stay in your workspace until you delete them.

Where your tours go

  • Tours you create in ChatGPT or Claude are saved in the Layerpath workspace you picked, as made by you. Members of that workspace can open them at app.layerpath.com.

  • Each new tour is published at a share link when it's ready. Anyone with the link can open it.

  • A draft has no working share link. Asking for its share link, or turning on Publish under Share, publishes it.

  • You can unpublish or delete any tour in the Layerpath app.

If something goes wrong

  • Layerpath didn't answer in Slack: mention @Layerpath, or reply in a thread it's already working in. A reply that tags someone else is for them, so Layerpath stays quiet. In a channel, invite it first with /invite @Layerpath.

  • "Layerpath is no longer connected to (your workspace)": ask an Owner or Admin to connect it again at app.layerpath.com/slack/install.

  • "Your Layerpath session has expired": connect Layerpath again in ChatGPT or Claude.

  • Tours go to the wrong workspace: disconnect Layerpath, connect again, and pick the right workspace.

  • "This tour belongs to another of your Layerpath workspaces": connect again and pick the workspace that has the tour.

  • You can't pick a workspace when connecting: ask an Owner or Admin to make you an Editor.

  • A share link doesn't open: the tour may be a draft. Ask for its share link to publish it.

  • Your files didn't reach Layerpath in Claude: add them in Layerpath's upload box in the chat, not as an attachment to the chat.

Known limits

  • Layerpath needs screens of software that already exists. It doesn't design new screens.

  • Each file can be up to 200 MB.

  • In ChatGPT, Layerpath takes up to 30 files from the chat at a time.

  • In Slack, Layerpath reads up to 40 screenshots and videos from a thread, 250 MB in all.

  • Loom and YouTube videos can be up to 10 minutes long. Some YouTube videos can't be used, such as private, age-restricted, or live ones. Upload the recording instead.

  • In Claude, Layerpath doesn't make voiceovers. Add one in the Layerpath app.

  • In Claude Code there's no upload box. Use a Loom link.

  • YouTube links aren't supported in Claude yet. Upload the recording instead.

  • Creating a tour usually takes a few minutes. Longer videos take longer.

Delete your data

  • A tour. In Layerpath, open the tour's menu and choose Delete. Its share link stops working within a few minutes. To have every copy of its files erased from our storage, email support@layerpath.com with links to the tours.

  • Your account. In Layerpath, go to Settings and choose Delete account, then type your email to confirm. This also deletes any workspace where you're the only owner.

  • Data from an integration. Email support@layerpath.com with the integration (ChatGPT, Claude, or Slack), the email you sign in with and, for Slack, your Slack workspace's name. We delete the requests, files, and messages we received through it within 30 days.

  • A copy of your data. Email support@layerpath.com from the address on your account, or submit a data request.

We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. Our privacy policy explains what we keep, for how long, and what we may need to retain by law.

Report a security issue

Email security@layerpath.com. Tell us what you found, how to reproduce it, and what it affects. We confirm we got your report within 2 business days, and we keep you posted while we fix it.

When you look for issues, don't access or change other people's data, and don't slow down or break Layerpath for others.
