FAQ

Layerpath MCP,
explained.

Everything you need to know about connecting Layerpath Agent to your AI assistant.

What is MCP, and what is the Layerpath MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. The Layerpath MCP connects your assistant to Layerpath Agent, so you can create and edit walkthroughs by asking.

Which AI assistants can I connect?

Any assistant that supports MCP servers, including Cursor, Claude Code and Codex. Using Slack, ChatGPT or Claude? Layerpath Agent has a dedicated app for each.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Copy the install prompt, paste it into your assistant, and sign in to Layerpath. Then ask in plain words.

What can I make through the Layerpath MCP?

Interactive walkthroughs from screenshots, screen recordings, or a Loom or YouTube link. You can also ask Agent to blur customer data, add a voiceover, translate a walkthrough or turn it into a video.

Can I edit a walkthrough after Agent creates it?

Yes. Ask your assistant what to change, like a shorter step or a new callout, and the same walkthrough updates. You can also open it in the Layerpath editor and change anything by hand.

Where are my walkthroughs saved?

In your Layerpath workspace, the one you sign in to when you connect. Open them in Layerpath any time to edit or share.

Is my data safe?

Your assistant can only reach the Layerpath workspace you sign in to, and you can disconnect it at any time. Review a walkthrough before you share it.

How is the MCP different from the Slack, ChatGPT and Claude apps?

The apps are built for those products, with the walkthrough right in the thread or chat. The MCP works with any assistant that supports MCP servers. It’s the same Layerpath Agent either way.

How do I share a walkthrough with a customer?

Ask Agent for a link. Send that link to your customer, and they can open the walkthrough without a Layerpath account.

How do I get started?

Copy the install prompt on this page and paste it into your assistant. Sign in to Layerpath when your assistant asks, and you’re ready.
