Turn a screen recording into a step-by-step guide
Paste a Loom link. Get numbered steps with the right screenshot for each one, ready to publish as a guide, help article, or SOP.
Recording to step-by-step guide
How it works
- Step 1
Paste the link
A public Loom share link, up to 10 minutes.
- Step 2
We listen and capture
The engine transcribes the narration, finds each step, and grabs the screenshot at that moment.
- Step 3
Copy or continue
Switch between guide, help article, and SOP, copy the Markdown, or open the steps in Layerpath.
Who uses it

Questions people ask
- Does it work with Loom links?
- Yes, that is what it is built for. Paste the public share link from Loom. For a YouTube tutorial, use the tutorial tool. Links that need a login, and file uploads, aren't supported yet.
- How long can the recording be?
- Up to 10 minutes. Shorter walkthroughs that show one workflow on screen give the cleanest steps.
- What happens to my video and transcript?
- The link is sent to Layerpath's documentation engine, which transcribes the audio and captures screenshots. The job and transcript are deleted after 7 days. Nothing is stored on this page.
- Does the AI make things up?
- Steps are grounded on what was said and shown in the recording. Review them before publishing, and check any step where the product may have changed since the recording.
- Can I get it as a help article or an SOP?
- Yes. Switch the layout on the result between a guide, a help article, and an SOP, then copy or download the Markdown.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The full result is on this page. Create a free Layerpath account when you want to edit the steps, add callouts or voiceover, or publish it as an interactive walkthrough and video.
- What if the recording shows a product behind a login?
- That's fine. The recording itself only needs to be reachable at a public link; what's on screen can be your logged-in product.

One recording. Every format.
In Layerpath the same steps become an interactive walkthrough, a guide, and a video, and you edit the step that changed instead of re-recording.
