How to Insert Image in Figma
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough of the steps needed to insert an image into a Figma design project. Follow each step carefully to ensure accurate results.
Open Your Figma File
Launch Figma and open the design file where you want to insert the image.
Use the Image Tool
Click on the “Place Image” icon from the toolbar at the top.
Or press the shortcut: Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + K.
Choose Your Image File
A file dialog will appear.
Select the image you want to insert from your computer.
Place the Image on Canvas
Click anywhere on the canvas to place the image at its original size.
Or click and drag to scale the image as you place it.
Adjust as Needed
Resize, crop, or move the image using standard Figma tools from the right-hand design panel.

Your image is now part of the design and can be styled or layered like any other element.
