How to Add Border in Figma

This guide will walk you through the steps to add a border (stroke) to a shape or object in Figma. Each step is detailed to ensure you can easily follow along and achieve the desired result.

  1. Open Your Figma File – Launch Figma and open the design file where you want to add a border.

  2. Select the Element – Click on the shape, frame, button, or image you want to apply a border to.

  3. Go to the Right Panel – On the right-hand side, look for the Stroke section.

  4. Click “+” Next to Stroke – This will add a border (stroke) around your selected element.

  5. Set Border Color & Width – Choose your desired color and adjust the stroke width as needed.

  6. Change Border Position (Optional) – Click the dropdown to place the border inside, center, or outside the shape.

  7. Done – Your element now has a clean border added.
