Open your Google Slides presentation.

Select the text you want to subscript.

Click on "Format" in the top menu.

Hover over "Text" in the dropdown menu.

Select "Subscript" from the options.

The selected text will now appear in subscript.

Repeat the steps to remove the subscript if needed.
