How to Change Spacing in Google Docs

Learn how to adjust line spacing in Google Docs to enhance document readability. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for both single and custom spacing options.

  1. Open your Google Docs document.

  2. Highlight the text you want to adjust the spacing for.

  3. Click on the "Format" menu at the top of the screen.

  4. Hover over "Line spacing" to see the available options: "Single," "1.15," "1.5," "Double," or "Custom spacing."

  5. Select the desired spacing option.

  6. For custom spacing, choose "Custom spacing" and enter the specific values for line and paragraph spacing in the dialog box that appears.
