How to Extend Zoom
Meeting Time

Follow these steps to extend the duration of your Zoom meeting. Each step is outlined in detail to guide you through the process seamlessly.

  1. Know Your Limit – Free Zoom accounts have a 40-minute limit on group meetings. One-on-one calls are unlimited.

  2. Upgrade Your Account – Go to zoom.us/pricing and select a Pro Plan (or higher) to remove the 40-minute cap.

  3. Purchase a Plan – Follow the steps to sign up and pay. Once upgraded, your meetings can last up to 30 hours.

  4. Schedule or Reuse Meetings – Use the same meeting link, but now your time limit is gone as long as you’re on a paid plan.

  5. Auto-Upgrade Prompt (Optional) – If you're in a meeting close to 40 minutes, Zoom may offer a one-time upgrade prompt — you can accept and extend time.

  6. Use Break + Rejoin Trick (Free Plan) – If you’re on free plan, when time ends, rejoin the same meeting link or create a new one and share it quickly.

  7. Enable Waiting Room or Passcode – If using the rejoin method, use waiting rooms or passcodes for security when participants come back in.

  8. Check Time During Call – Always keep an eye on time by checking the meeting timer at the top-left of the screen to manage accordingly.
