How to Remove Component Figma

This guide provides a step-by-step process on how to remove a component in Figma. Follow these steps carefully to successfully remove any component from your Figma project.

1. Select the Component – Click on the component you want to remove.

2. Right-Click the Component – A menu will appear with various options.

3. Choose “Detach Instance” – This turns the component into a regular frame (only if it's an instance).

4. Press Delete Key – Once detached or if already a main component, press Delete or Backspace.

5. To Delete from Assets Panel – Go to the Assets tab, right-click the main component, and select “Delete”.

6. Check for Reuse – Make sure it’s not being used elsewhere, as deleting a main component affects all instances.

7. Undo If Needed – Press Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to reverse the deletion.
