How to Change Lead Status
in HubSpot

Follow these step-by-step instructions to change the lead status in your HubSpot account. This guide will help you navigate through the HubSpot interface and update the lead status efficiently.

  1. Log in to HubSpot – Visit hubspot.com and sign in to your account.

  2. Go to Contacts – From the main dashboard, click “Contacts” in the top navigation, then select “Contacts” from the dropdown.

  3. Search or Select a Contact – Use the search bar or scroll to find the contact whose lead status you want to change.

  4. Open the Contact Record – Click the contact's name to open their detailed profile page.

  5. Locate Lead Status Property – On the left or right side panel (depending on your layout), find the “Lead Status” field under properties.

  6. Click the Pencil/Edit Icon – Hover over Lead Status, then click the edit (pencil) icon to change it.

  7. Choose a New Status – Select the appropriate status from the dropdown (e.g., New, Open, In Progress, Open Deal, Unqualified).

  8. Click Save – After selecting the new status, click “Save” to update the contact.
