How to Join Breakout Room in Zoom
Follow these simple steps to join a breakout room during a Zoom meeting. Each step will guide you through the process, ensuring that you can move smoothly from one action to the next.
Join the Main Zoom Meeting – Open Zoom and enter the meeting as usual using the link or meeting ID provided.
Wait for Host to Open Breakout Rooms – Only the host can create and open breakout rooms. Stay in the main session until they assign you.
Look for the Breakout Room Prompt – When assigned, a popup will appear saying “You have been invited to join a breakout room.”
Click “Join” – Hit the “Join” button in the popup to enter the breakout room instantly.
Auto-Join (If Enabled) – If the host has enabled automatic joining, you’ll be moved into the breakout room without needing to click anything.
Interact Inside the Breakout Room – You can use your mic, video, chat, and screen sharing like in the main room. Collaborate with others in your assigned group.
Ask for Help (Optional) – Click the “Ask for Help” button in the breakout room if you need the host’s assistance. They’ll be notified.
Return to Main Room – When the session ends or the host calls everyone back, click “Leave Breakout Room” or wait to be automatically moved to the main session.
