How to Rename in Zoom

This guide outlines the steps to rename your profile in Zoom. Follow these step-by-step instructions to update your display name.

  1. Join a Zoom meeting - Enter the meeting where you want to change your displayed name.

  2. Open Participants panel - Click the "Participants" button in the meeting controls at the bottom of your window.

  3. Find your name - Locate your name in the participants list that appears on the right side of the screen.

  4. Access rename option - Hover over your name and click "More" (or "..."), then select "Rename" from the menu that appears.

  5. Enter new name - Type your desired name in the text field that pops up.

  6. Confirm the change - Click "OK" or "Rename" to save your new display name.

  7. Note host settings - Be aware that meeting hosts can disable the renaming feature, in which case you won't see the rename option.
